Default What are some advantages and disadvanteges of creating a whole new account

I'm trying to decide whether to create a new account or add it to my old one. What are the advantages and disadvantages of creating a new account in factions, instead of adding it to your old one? besides the fact that you will get more character slots.

Merging seems to be the most popular. Aside from a few extra character slots creating a new account the benefits of merging are far higher. Because you can take characters too and from both lands. Your canthan characters can have access to all the maps, missions, etc of prophecies when they get to tyria.

Unless you feel like you need 8 character slots, I think merging is the better way to go. You get to keep all the skills you have unlocked in Chap2 for PvP and you also get to cross over between Tyria and Cantha as Kai said.

I think he wants people to specify more, and I see where he is coming from. I, myself, am not a PvP'er. But I'm still debating if I want to merge or not. I still haven't decided..

With the recent comments from Gaile saying they may possibly (her comments seem to make it likely) offer extra slots for purchase, merging accounts is a no-brainer.

Not having Chapter 1 PVP unlocked to merge with Chapter 2 when making a PVP character.

If your deciding whats good for getting factions...

Merging:
2 new slots, new armor/skills for ALL chars, a whole new area

Creating new accounts:
4 char slots

The only advantage to creating a new account is getting 2 extra character slots. I would never find those useful, but maybe you would? Otherwise, you're much better off with a merged account, giving your characters access to everything in the game and the ability to travel back and forth.

Well, I see them coming out with new lands, so I imagine it will be growing in a big interlocking world. If you keep making seperate accounts I can see it getting out of hand and missing a flow.
